Earlier this season, 6'4 Carlsbad sophomore guard Jake Hall scored 50 points against San Ysidro which has two of ESPN top 100 recruits Mikey Williams (#34) and JJ Taylor (#62). The San Ysidro duo are headed to Memphis next year.
The scoring outburst came in a comeback win and the final score was a very high scoring one 100-89. Carlsbad was trailing the whole game and was down as much as 20 but was finally able to make a run with a team effort and with Jake leading the way they were able to take the lead in the 4th quarter. It just seemed like all the momentum was in Carlsbad's favor and they never looked back.
Jake's 50 point performance came on 15-22 from the field 4-9 from 3 and 16-19 from the free throw line. A very efficient shooting display on the road.
Jake had a very strong sophomore season earning the league's MVP averaging 26.1 points per game on 67% shooting from 2FG, 39% from 3FG, and 85% from the charity stripe. Ending the season with a total of 808 points and surpassed the 1,500 point mark earlier in the season.
